AL.TO - Sell

Chart of AL as of Aug. 26, 2005

Sell Price
$40.55 Cdn

Company
Alcan
Mining and processing of bauxite; the refining of bauxite into alumina; the generation of electric power for use in smelting operations; the smelting of aluminum from alumina; the manufacturing of aluminum, aluminum alloy and non-aluminum materials into semi-finished and finished products; the recycling of used and scrap aluminum; the distribution and marketing of Group products; the production and sale of industrial chemicals used in the aluminum industry; and research and development. Manufactured products include rolled foil for food packaging; converted flexible packaging for non-durable consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics; rolled lithographic sheets for offset printing; cable for electric power transmission and distribution; and extrusion ingot for sale to other aluminum product fabricators.

Reason
I don't like stocks when they finish down in the last hr. of trading, and that's what this had been doing. The chart would seem to indicate they have a lot of potential upside...just feels like it's going to $35. Also, I don't like any company who needs that much power to make their product, because that means they need to buy natural gas or something similar to generate it.

Pie Chart

This is my RRSP as a pie chart. Notice I didn't put the dollar amounts...it ruins the illusion.

TRE.TO - Buy

I guess I haven't kept this up-to-date w/ my recent trade activity, but I'll see if I can keep it up-to-date from today.

Chart of TRE as of Aug. 3, 2005

Purchase Price
$2.75 Cdn

Company
Sino Forest Corp.
SINO-FOREST CORPORATION is involved in the growing and harvesting of eucalyptus, aspen and pine trees under long-term plantation programs in Southern China. The Company also manufactures, distributes and sells forest products including logs, wood chips, and forestry chemicals.

Reason
I just think it's done going down....more from just looking at the chart than anything. P/E is something really low, like 5.1, if you can believe it. I think the price of lumber products is depressed, and thus the low price, but I thought it's worth a shot. Also, they report earnings tomorrow.

Risk?
Risk seems low-medium. Will buy more if it goes to $2.
